I ask you to read this chapter “Exploring the Strange World of Learning Theory” because it discusses how we might consider or question the use of learning theory to guide our decisions from different professional perspectives. We all come from various professional backgrounds, but we mostly all work with other people and often are responsible for supervising, instructing, guiding, modeling and demonstrating for them. What guides our decisions on how we interact with or instruct others? What should guide our decisions? How can we do this more effectively? What part does learning theory play? This reading attempts to define theory. I believe it is a helpful way to begin our look at theories that guide distance learning.

Chapter 2 - Teaching and Learning at a Distance "Definitions, History and Theories of Distance Education"

After reading pages 1-6 and before reading chapter 2, please answer the following questions:
1. What questions do you have about Distance Learning? How do you currently define distance education? What is your personal interest in distance education?

After reading chapter 2 in your text, please respond to the following questions in the form of a 1-2 page response paper.
1. What theory from your reading resonates most with you? Explain?
This is a personal response, but please relate your response to the readings. As stated previously, your response will be combined with Assignment 1 responses and saved as 1 document. Assignment 1 & 2 will be scored with the following criteria:
