Newman Library of Virginia Tech provides many academic resources that you may want to use. As an off-campus student, you will need to proceed through the "Off Campus Sign in" to gain access to the many electronic resources available. Please click Off Campus Sign in button on the right column of the library website and use your PID and password to access to library database.

VT Inter Library Loan

Interlibrary Loan services are available to all Virginia Tech students for research purposes. If you are not yet familiar with Interlibrary Loan service, please take a few moments to read some information about Interlibrary Loan.

One of the best options we have with public library systems nowadays is the use of the Inter-Library Loan Systems. We recommend checking with your local library to verify availability in your area.

Computer Software for VT Students

- Student Software Distribution offers great prices on software. Please visit the website for more detailed information.

- Virginia Tech students can access Network Software to download various software. The Network Software site is provided as a service of Virginia Tech Information Technology Acquisitions for network-based installation of licensed software. All software contained on this site is licensed for use only by Virginia Tech students, faculty, or staff. All other use is illegal and subject to prosecution. Students must be currently enrolled to access the site.

Computer Application Tutorials

Virginia Tech students have the benefit of accessing the Lynda.com Web site, which offers over 600 interactive tutorials which cover office productivity, web development, and other software in depth. Courses are also available for technical subjects such as programming languages, system administration, and networking.
