Component 7: Instructional Design Project Management

Provide a record of design documents for one or more ID projects: storyboards, instructional analyses, instructional strategy descriptions, formative evaluation procedures, summaries of any client/designer interactions, and functional specifications for the use of tools/media to solve particular ID-related problems.

This component has no subcomponents. The "Management" page of your portfolio should provide evidence of the above. The following tools and tutorials can be useful to you during the design and development stages of your ID projects.

  • Designer's Edge - Designer's Edge is an integrated software package that leads you through the Instructional Design process. It helps you write goals and objectives, generate forms and reports, and generate storyboards. The site allows you to download an evaluation copy to try out. Windows only.
  • Hot Potatoes - This is a great utility that generates interactive online quizzes - including multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, and others.
  • Inspiration - This diagramming program is used by many educators to help students develop ideas and organize thinking. It also works great for flowcharts and instructional analyses.
